Technical audit: an independent view of your codebase and infrastructure

A technical audit gives you an independent, written assessment of a web application: how it is structured, where the risks are, and what to do about them, in priority order. It is useful before an investment or acquisition, before scaling, after a change of team, or when something feels wrong but nobody can say what.

We review the system the way we would if we were about to take responsibility for it. That means reading the code, the infrastructure and the deployment process, not just running automated scanners.

This is a good fit if

  • You are investing in, acquiring or inheriting a software product
  • You are about to scale and want to know what will break first
  • You depend on an external team and want an independent second opinion
  • Incidents keep happening and the root cause is unclear

What's included

Architecture review

Structure, boundaries, data model and how well the system will handle growth and change.

Code quality and maintainability

Readability, test coverage, dependency health and how hard it is to change things safely.

Security review

Authentication, authorization, input handling, secrets, exposed services and known vulnerabilities in dependencies.

Infrastructure and operations

Hosting, deployment, backups, monitoring and what happens when something fails.

Prioritized recommendations

Findings ranked by risk and effort, so you know what to fix now and what can wait.

What you get

  • A written audit report with findings ranked by severity
  • An executive summary for non-technical stakeholders
  • A prioritized remediation plan
  • A walkthrough session to discuss the findings

How we work

  1. 01

    Understanding the problem properly

Before writing code, we focus on clarity. We take the time to understand the product goals, technical constraints, and risk areas — so we’re solving the right problems, not just the visible ones.

  2. 02

    Designing the right foundation

We define architecture, system boundaries, and key technical decisions early. This creates a stable foundation that supports growth, change, and long-term maintainability.

  3. 03

    Building with discipline and visibility

Development happens in controlled iterations, with regular communication and working software. Progress stays visible, and technical risk is managed continuously — not deferred.

  4. 04

    Preparing for real-world use

We focus on performance, reliability, and edge cases to ensure the product holds up under real users, real data, and real load — not just internal testing.

  5. 05

    Leaving you with something sustainable

We deliver clean, documented, maintainable code that your team can confidently operate, extend, and scale — without rewrites or dependency on us.

Frequently asked questions

What do you need from us?

Read access to the source code, a description of the infrastructure, and time with someone who knows the system. Production access is only needed for specific checks and is agreed in advance.

Is this a penetration test?

No. The audit includes a security review of code and configuration, but it is not an adversarial penetration test. If you need one, we will say so and scope it separately.

Can you fix what you find?

Yes, but there is no obligation. The report is written so any competent team can act on it.
