Software architecture and system design for systems that need to scale
We design software architectures that match the real complexity of your product: clear system boundaries, data models that hold up as requirements change, and APIs that integrate cleanly. Architecture work can be a standalone engagement or the first phase of a build.
Most systems don't fail because of one bad decision. They fail because many reasonable local decisions add up to something nobody can reason about. We make the structural decisions early and explicitly, and write them down.
This is a good fit if
- You are about to build something significant and want the foundation right
- Your system grew quickly and nobody can explain how the pieces fit anymore
- Every change reveals hidden coupling or breaks something elsewhere
- You need to integrate many external sources or providers without the mess leaking inward
What's included
Current-state review
For existing systems: how data flows today, where responsibilities overlap, and which parts carry the most risk.
System boundaries and responsibilities
Which component owns which data and decisions, and how components communicate.
Data modelling
Internal models that stay stable even when external inputs are inconsistent, as we did when canonicalizing provider catalogs for TokenHub.
API and integration design
Coherent interfaces between services, clients and third parties, with failure isolation so one unstable provider cannot take down the rest.
Security and authorization model
A structured approach to authentication, authorization context, policy and enforcement instead of checks scattered through the code.
What you get
- Architecture documentation with diagrams and the reasoning behind key decisions
- Data model and API specifications
- A prioritized roadmap for moving from the current state to the target
- Optional: implementation of the critical foundations

Digital Commerce Infrastructure
Context
A digital commerce platform enabling merchants to sell game tokens and digital goods across multiple providers and regions. The system needed to abstract away highly fragmented external catalogs while maintaining reliability at scale.
What made it non-trivial
- Inconsistent product naming, SKUs, and structures across providers
- Region-specific pricing, availability, and compliance rules
- Redundant and overlapping catalog entries across storefronts
- Provider instability that could not affect downstream systems
- Need for traceability, reproducibility, and safe reprocessing of data
Our role
We designed and implemented the ingestion pipeline, normalization logic, internal product model, and operational safeguards across the platform. This included defining how external data mapped into a unified internal representation and how failures were isolated.
Outcome
The platform shipped with a stable internal catalog, predictable ingestion behavior, and the ability to onboard new providers without reworking existing systems. Merchants gained reliable local fulfillment while internal teams retained confidence in data consistency.

- 01
Understanding the problem properly
Before writing code, we focus on clarity. We take the time to understand the product goals, technical constraints, and risk areas — so we’re solving the right problems, not just the visible ones.
- 02
Designing the right foundation
We define architecture, system boundaries, and key technical decisions early. This creates a stable foundation that supports growth, change, and long-term maintainability.
- 03
Building with discipline and visibility
Development happens in controlled iterations, with regular communication and working software. Progress stays visible, and technical risk is managed continuously — not deferred.
- 04
Preparing for real-world use
We focus on performance, reliability, and edge cases to ensure the product holds up under real users, real data, and real load — not just internal testing.
- 05
Leaving you with something sustainable
We deliver clean, documented, maintainable code that your team can confidently operate, extend, and scale — without rewrites or dependency on us.

Frequently asked questions
Can you do architecture without building the whole system?
Yes. Architecture can be a standalone engagement that your team implements. We can also implement the critical foundations and hand over the rest.
Do you work on existing systems or only new ones?
Both. For existing systems we start by mapping what is actually there, then define a target architecture and an incremental path to it. A full rewrite is rarely the right answer.
What does the output look like?
Written documentation your team can use: diagrams, the decisions made and why, data models, API contracts and a prioritized plan. Not a slide deck that gets forgotten.
