Web application security and incident response

When a web application or website is compromised, we investigate how the attacker got in, remove what they left behind, and close the path they used. We handle incidents across stacks, from CMS platforms like WordPress to custom React, Next.js and Node.js applications: malware and SEO spam injections, malicious redirects, backdoors and web shells, and exploited plugin, framework and dependency vulnerabilities, including recent ones such as React2Shell (CVE-2025-55182).

A cleanup that only removes visible symptoms often fails because attackers leave persistence mechanisms. Our focus is understanding the attack well enough that the fix holds.

This is a good fit if

  • Your site shows spam, redirects or content you didn't publish
  • Search results for your domain show unfamiliar pages
  • You run an Internet-exposed React or Next.js application affected by a published vulnerability
  • You cleaned up an infection before and it came back

What's included

Triage and containment

Limiting further damage while preserving the evidence needed to understand the attack.

Investigation

Identifying the entry point, what was accessed or modified, and every persistence mechanism.

Remediation

Removing malicious code and access, rotating credentials, and restoring clean, patched components.

Hardening

Patching the vulnerability used, reducing exposed surface, and adding monitoring so a repeat is caught early.

Search and reputation cleanup

For SEO spam infections: removing injected pages and helping search engines drop them from results.

What you get

  • A cleaned, patched and hardened system
  • An incident report: entry point, impact, timeline and what was changed
  • Recommendations to prevent recurrence

How we work

  1. 01

    Understanding the problem properly

Before writing code, we focus on clarity. We take the time to understand the product goals, technical constraints, and risk areas — so we’re solving the right problems, not just the visible ones.

  2. 02

    Designing the right foundation

We define architecture, system boundaries, and key technical decisions early. This creates a stable foundation that supports growth, change, and long-term maintainability.

  3. 03

    Building with discipline and visibility

Development happens in controlled iterations, with regular communication and working software. Progress stays visible, and technical risk is managed continuously — not deferred.

  4. 04

    Preparing for real-world use

We focus on performance, reliability, and edge cases to ensure the product holds up under real users, real data, and real load — not just internal testing.

  5. 05

    Leaving you with something sustainable

We deliver clean, documented, maintainable code that your team can confidently operate, extend, and scale — without rewrites or dependency on us.

Frequently asked questions

Our WordPress site is showing spam. Can you help?

Yes. SEO spam infections on WordPress, often through vulnerable plugins, are among the incidents we investigate. We find and remove the persistence that makes these infections come back after a basic cleanup.

Are we affected by React2Shell (CVE-2025-55182)?

Internet-exposed applications using React Server Components, including many Next.js deployments, were affected until patched. If you are unsure, contact us; we can check your versions and look for signs of exploitation.

Can you help right now?

Contact us and describe what you are seeing. Active incidents are prioritized.
